Royal Palaces of Sri Lanka,
it was originally a 4 episode documentary on ancient royal residents and their appurtenants each programme duration 25mts. The programmes explore the story of sovereignty in Sri Lanka from Vijaya to Sri Wikrama Rajasinghe. The proud civilisation with sovereignty was ended in 1815 at the hill capital Kandy once the British captured the last king of Ceylon, Sri Wikrama Rajasinghe.
The sacred tooth relic which brought to Sri Lanka in the period of king Kithsirimewan, there after became as the symbol of Sovereignty and it moved according to the kingdom moves because of local & foreign threats.
The programmes explore the excellent creation of the people of Lanka and their grate civilisation.
The concept of the programme was proposed by Professor Chandra Wickramagamage, veteran archaeologist and Senior Professor University of Sri Jayawardanapura.
Research script done by Dr. Malingha Amarasinghe University of Kelaniya. He draws the models of ancient palaces according to the ground plans and his researches.
