1.Take the form of an L, with both horizontal and vertical lines been equal.


3.The letter u appears in the early inscriptions of King Uttiya, who was known as Uti. His inscriptions were believed those that can be historically dated. As there are inscription before he became King on the demise of his brother King Devanampiyatissa. Few of his inscriptions are below.The inscription below was donated to the Sanga  by Kings daughter named Tissa with merit for the parents.
